Step 1: Engage and presentation

1. T: Good afternoon, children

Look, children. There are so many English teachers here today. How many teachers are there? Do you know?

     I think there are at least 2000 teachers here today.

     Say hello to all the teachers, OK?

     You can say: Hello, welcome to Suzhou!

     How many students are there in your school?

2. T: I’m your new English teacher.

I don’t know you very well. I want to know something about you. Can you introduce yourself to me?

T: Do you know my English name?

  T: Now you know my English name is Jane.

    Do you want to know more about me?

3. (Shows five pictures on the screen.)

What are those?

Yes, they’re all my photos. They are about my personal information. (Point to the board)

Now you can ask me questions and get my personal information

I have some stamps with flowers.

I have some ones with animals. (screen: different kind of stamps) Especially I like the ones with pandas.

1. T: Now you have know a lot about me.

  007 is coming today. But where is he? He is just in our classroom.

  Do you want to find 007?

   2: T: Let’s look at this e-mail. It’s from my friend Tom.

    Please read this e-mail by yourself. Here are 3 questions for you.

A: Where does Tom live?

B: What’s his favorite sport?

C: What’s his hobby?

2. T: My friend Tom wants to find a pen pal. He wants to find a pen friend. Pen pal means pen friend.

    Do you want to be his pen pal?

    You should let him know about your personal information. Your name, school, age and these information.

3. Who can tell us about something about your information?

Step 4: Writing and homework

T: Now it’s time to write an e-mail to Tom.

    First let’s write down on the paper.
